Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Develop and implement a supply chain strategy
  • Identify the organisation’s objectives and the strategies for achieving them
  • Review current supply chain management strategy and how it delivers against organisational strategies
  • Assess supply chain opportunities that will add value to the organisation within the requirements of the strategy and budgetary allowance
  • Design and implement a supply chain strategy that increases effectiveness and achieves organisational objectives
  • Gain commitment of stakeholders to implement supply chain strategy
  • Assign responsibility to monitor supply chain strategy to relevant personnel
       
Element: Manage the flow of supplies through the supply chain
  • Obtain information on the specifications of supplies in the supply chain
  • Clarify the aims, objectives and plans of supplies against organisational policies and procedures
  • Allocate supply chain tasks to self and other personnel
  • Support personnel to achieve supply chain tasks and milestones
  • Monitor and control the achievement of supply chain objectives against cost and timescales
  • Present reports on the results of supply chain outcomes to stakeholders
       
Element: Manage supply chain relationships and activities
  • Apply portfolio analysis techniques to assess relationships in supply chains in accordance with the supply chain management strategy
  • Evaluate financial, technical and performance data of suppliers in accordance with supply chain strategies
  • Identify opportunities to adjust supply chain strategies to respond to the changing needs of customers, supply chain and organisational objectives
  • Design and implement a framework to promote collaboration with suppliers to achieve a competitive advantage
  • Consult with organisation management to confirm progress of supply chain activities in accordance to organisational objectives
       
Element: Evaluate and improve supply chain effectiveness
  • Review the effectiveness of current relationships within the supply chain in accordance with the supply chain management strategy
  • Compare supply chain management models to determine most appropriate infrastructure to support organisational objectives
  • Assess techniques to support the development of innovation in the supply chain
  • Analyse cost reduction activities for a supply chain to achieve organisational objectives
  • Consolidate analysis and evaluation results to improve future supply chain management strategies and seek feedback from organisation management

Assessment Tasks
